SHELDON School has been ranked fourth in the county for A-level results.
It also ranked number 11 out of 37 in Wiltshire for GCSEs, after 69 per cent of Key Stage Four students gained five A*-C GCSEs – high above the national average of 59 per cent.
Sheldon was the top for comprehensive schools in the county for English GCSE results – 80 per cent of Key Stage Four pupils achieved grades A*-C.
Head teacher Neil Spurdell said: “It’s a good, strong performance.
“We are very happy, particularly with our very strong showing in English GCSE, and we expect it to be even higher in 2013.” Sheldon also fared well with the English Baccalaureate, being placed ninth in the county. A total of 39 per cent of pupils achieved A*-C passes in English, maths, two sciences, a language and either history or geography. The Wilt-shire average is 18 per cent.
