SCOOPING up £350 worth of bathroom supplies may not be everyone’s ideal prize, but that is what Emma Corke went for after she won a 60-second trolley dash around Sainsbury’s.

Miss Corke, 26, of Box, made her supermarket sweep on Sunday, after winning the raffle prize at the Melksham branch.

Given a minute to clear as many shelves as she could, she went straight for the health and beauty aisle, stocking up on shampoo, razors and electric toothbrushes, with price tags totalling £376.25.

She said: “I had a very clear strategy. I wanted to go for stuff that didn’t have an expiry date, so I would have things I would always need.

“It was a bit surreal, running round the supermarket with no one else in there, but it was a great experience.”

The business rates auditor won the prize in a raffle supporting Carer Support Wiltshire, the store’s nominated charity.

Sainsbury’s customer service manager Libby Kent said: “She obviously had a strategy, which was great. We weren’t sure what she was going to do.

“In the end, she went for health and beauty lines. She said she got all her items for a year.”

The store raised more than £100 for Carer Support, which offers information and advice to carers across Wiltshire.

Ms Kent said: “We have a charity each year, which we fund-raise for.

“We run a book stall which people donate secondhand books to and we sell them for 50p, which has raised about £500.”
