JUST three of our local sides got game time in the Wiltshire League at the weekend, all in Division One.
League leaders Madames were stunned 2-1 by struggling Wilton, while Intel recorded a 2-1 victory at AFC Wroughton.
In a midtable clash, South Marston charged to a 3-0 success at Marshfield.
In Division One of the North Berks League, Faringdon Town suffered a blow in the title race as they lost 2-1 at home to Childrey United. Robert Owen bagged Faringdon’s consolation.
Faringdon Town Reserves lost 2-0 at home to Kintbury Rangers Reserves in Division Three Coleshill United made the third round of of the War Memorial Cup after running out 2-1 winners at Marcham thanks to goals from Bryan Ferris and Gary Knapp.
Mark Mooney scored a hat-trick for Lambourn Sports Reserves as they trounced Reading League Division Three side Emmbrook in the Fifth Round of the Berks & Bucks Junior Cup.
There were only two games in the Swindon & District League, both in Division One.
Swindon Spitfires defeated Ferndale 4-3 courtesy of goals from Luke Burroughs (2), Dale Surridge and Barry Winslow. Justin Hyde (2) and Daniel Knight got Ferndale’s consolations. Bassett Bulldogs recorded a thumping 3-0 victory over Chiseldon.
In the Sunday League, Stratton Reform won 4-2 at Tap & Barrel in Division 3 while Nationwide Pavilion crushed Stratton Saints 6-1.
