Police are appealing for witnesses after a fatal road crash on the A36 near Warminster last night.

A 50-year-old man from the Rode area was killed in a collision with another car just after 5pm and the road was closed for seven hours.

The Wiltshire Air Ambulance attended but the man suffered multiple injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.

The incident happened at Norridge Woods on the A36 between the Cley Hill and Granada Services roundabouts.

A white VW Golf driven by a 22-year-old from Melksham, who was driving towards the Granada Services, collided with the man's green coloured Rover 400.

The road, closed while emergency services carried out investigations into the crash. was re-opened this morning.
