Pancake racers will be trying to batter their opponents in the Chippenham races on Tuesday.
The races for adults and children start at 11am outside the town hall in the High Street. Entry is free but participants must provide pancakes and a frying pan.
Musician Martin Smith will be on hand to entertain the crowd between races.
Mayor Andy Phillips will start the races from the town hall steps and present the prizes afterwards.
Coun Maureen Lloyd and her colleagues from the Autumn Travellers’ Club of Chippenham will be making and selling pancakes in the town hall during the event.
Winners will receive an engraved frying pan and those in second place will get a jar of maple syrup. Everyone receives a lemon, donated by SK Fruits in the town, and there will be special prizes for children.
Entry forms are at the Community and Visitor Information Centre in the High Street or at community information@chippenham.gov.uk
