Ideas for what should replace the former Co-op store are being sought by Royal Wootton Bassett Business Association.
In an appeal to town residents, a group spokesman said: “We’re very proud of Royal Wootton Bassett’s busy town centre. It’s a great place to shop which, unlike many other towns, has very few empty retail units.
“So when a shop does become vacant, as the Co-op recently has, it would be useful to find out what the local community would like to see in its place.
“Thinking about the situation and size of the premises, and what businesses are already in the town, we would like your comments regarding what you want to see and why.
“Some of our local businesses will also be asking their customers the same questions over the next couple of weeks, so we’ll collate all the details and pass on to interested parties.
“All suggestions are gratefully received by February 11. So, whether you want to see an independent retailer or a chain, a supermarket, bingo hall, ice rink, whatever, this is your chance to be heard.”
Feedback can be given in at the town council offices in High Street, or by searching for Royal Wootton Bassett Business Association’s page on Facebook.
