Police respond to false reports of firearm in Trowbridge

Trowbridge Police responded to a false alarm of man carrying a gun into Daisy Express, in Roundstone Street, at around 4pm on Friday.

Inspector Lisette Harvey said: “It started out as a report of a man allegedly carrying a firearm through the park but he couldn’t be found at that point the firearms team were down and we then received a report of a man matching the description of the original report entering Daisy Express.”

The man wasn’t found to be carrying a weapon.

Any idea what he was carrying? It would be useful to know what not carry in order to avoid repeated reports from flaky witnesses, interruptions into a person''s daily progress and police time.

"Trowbridge Police responded to a false alarm of man carrying a gun into Daisy Express, in Roundstone Street, at around 4pm on Friday."

The lead paragraph in this article is so patently misleading and a shoddy and lazy piece of reporting from the WT. The culprit who wrote it desrves a sound thrashing.
The police did not respond to a report of a man carrying a firearm into Daisy Express - they responded to a report of a man carrying a firearm through the park. Daisy Express only became involved because someone matching the given description was seen entering that shop. There is no mention of that person having a firearm in that shop.
