Print firm boss on fake bills charge

Andrew Hemmings Andrew Hemmings

The former manager of Trowbridge’s Cromwell Press has appeared before a judge on two charges of false accounting.

Andrew Hemmings is alleged to have falsified invoices from another company on two occasions.

The 55-year-old is said to have created fake invoices from Ken Biggs Construction Ltd in April 2005 and again in March 2006.

No charge was formally put to Hemmings, of Downs View, Bradford on Avon, when he appeared at Swindon Crown Court and he did not enter a plea.

Judge Douglas Field adjourned the case until April 12, and released Hemmings on unconditional bail until then.

Hemmings worked at the printing firm, on the White Horse Business Park, which went into administration in October 2010, following months of uncertainty.
