PUPILS at Clarendon Academy earned about the First World War and its impact on Trowbridge.
Expert Steve Williams brought artefacts and weaponry for Year Eight students to see.
Mr Williams gives talks and practical demonstrations at regional schools.
He said: “I try to help support their studies and give an overall picture of what was happening.
“The children really like seeing the weapons, but I don’t think they appreciate just how heavy the rifles and the machine guns were.
“The response from the pupils was first class.”
Matthew Ridley and Bryan Mitchell, of the town branch of the Royal British Legion, also came in, to talk about the work the organisation does.
Mr Mitchell said: “We talked about the First World War and how people reacted locally to it.”
