Mum-of-two Charlotte Davies is taking on an epic running challenge in aid of her children’s school.

Miss Davies, 40, of Knights Close in West Overton, is tackling the Jurassic Coast Challenge between March 22 and 24, during which she will complete three marathons in as many days.

It started as a personal challenge but friend Tracey Smith, treasurer of the Friends of Kennet Valley School, suggested she raise money for the school.

Miss Davies’ two children Imogen, 10, and Thomas Nutt, seven, both go to the school and have been supporting their mum through her training.

She said: “They come to cheer me on during races and they’ll be at the finish line at Sandbanks when I’ll probably be dragging myself across the finish line.”

The Jurassic Coast Challenge is a gruelling 78.6-mile course across Dorset starting at Charmouth.

Miss Davies has been training five to six days a week for six months with her friend Nicky Black, who is also taking part in the challenge.

Miss Davies said: “Some people think I’m bonkers. I’ve already been though five pairs of trainers but I’m ready for it now.”
