Wine lovers in Devizes are being challenged to pit their wits against three leading local wine experts.
Call My Wine Bluff is being hosted by the Devizes Food & Drink Festival on Friday, March 8, at Devizes Literary and Scientific Institute, Northgate Street.
Following an introductory glass of wine, the evening will involve tastings of wine from around the world.
The experts – Wadworth sales and marketing director Paul Sullivan, wine and spirits sales manager David Scratchley and international wine consultant Robin Lane – will each give a convincing description of the wines and their origins.
But two of the experts will be bluffing and guests must work out who is telling the truth. Six wines will be tasted and the person who identifies the most correctly will win an appropriate prize.
A cheese platter with specialist breads will also be provided.
Organiser Paul Bryant, from the festival, said: “Call My Wine Bluff will be a really entertaining evening, but with the opportunity for people to learn a little as well.
“We are very grateful to Wadworth & Co and the Literary Institute for their support.”
All proceeds will go towards staging the festival, which runs from May 17-25.
Tickets for Call My Wine Bluff cost £15 and are available from Devizes Books, Handel House, Sidmouth Street, Devizes.
