Corsley teen takes on charity challenge (From This Is Wiltshire)

Corsley teenager Will Jasper is preparing for a challenging cycle ride through some of the most mountainous terrain in the world.

After recently finishing their studies at King’s College in Taunton, Will, 19, and his friend Olly Gibb, 18, had the idea of cycling 700 miles from just outside New Delhi, India, to the Nepalese capital of Kathmandu.

Will, who previously studied at Warminster School, will set off with Olly on February 25, mountain biking along the Great Himalaya Trail until they reach Kath-mandu, where they have volunteered to work for the Disabled New Life Centre.

Will said: “We are raising money for the Nepali Child-ren’s Trust, which supports children with physical disabilities, including residents at the Disabled New Life Centre in Kathmandu.”

The pair, who will be away for seven to eight weeks, will carry camping equipment and supplies in four panniers, while both will also tow a single-wheeled trailer.
