THERE was a flurry of goals in the second half as Rosier Rovers saw off Gorsehill Borough 5-2 in Swindon Sunday League Division Seven.
James Wheeler sent Rovers into the break 1-0 up and although Gorsehill equalised after the resumption, David Cope rounded the keeper to restore the advantage.
Jack Crane scored directly with a corner due to a mix up at the near post before Borough pulled it back to 3-2.
However, Cope chipped in his second following a poor goal kick and he rounded the keeper for the second time to complete his hat-trick.
In Division Six, AFC Greendown’s first match in five weeks did not end happily as they were beaten 4-1 by Stratton Saints.
Stratton went in front through Jamie Saunders, but Chris Smith broke away down the right before equalising.
Saints restored their lead with a Dan Martin screamer and after the break a third goal effectively killed the game off.
Saunders got a fourth for Stratton with 15 minutes left to put the polish on victory.
Following a two-month break, league leaders Cheney raced into a 4-0 lead against Chiseldon Sunday in Division Five.
Chiseldon got back in the game thanks to two penalties and they then scored another to make it 4-3.
However, two further Cheney goals ended any hopes Chiseldon might have had of taking anything, although they did get another as the game ended 6-4.
On the scoresheet for Cheney were Andrew Walshe (2), Aaron Welland, Joe Fitchett, Liam Preedy (pen) and captain Kev Dunn.
