LAMBOURN Sports Reserves bowed out of the Berks & Bucks Junior Cup at the quarter-final stage despite a brave effort.

Mark Mooney bagged a brace in their 3-2 home defeat to Hellenic League Division Two East outfit Finchampstead Reserves.

In North Berks League Division One, a Robbie Harrington double and a Mike van der Mortel effort gave Faringdon Town a 3-2 win at Sutton Courtenay to keep them in the hunt for the title.

Richard Evans hit the back of the net five times in helping Coleshill United destroy Benson Lions 7-2 in Division Two.

Mark Simpkins and Dan Bradbury also scored for the home side with Ben Baker and Pat Cowley netting for the Lions.

In Division Three, Joel Francis, Damian Francis, Dan Oyston, Jason Evans, Josh Forth and Charles Bodie were on the scoresheet for Faringdon Town Reserves in their 6-1 home win over Hagbourne United. Hagbourne’s effort came through an own goal.

Faringdon Town A remain one point clear at the top of Division Five after winning 5-2 at Grove Rangers Reserves.

Nick Wojcik, Steve Ware, Lee Ruddle, Martin Key and Ryan Sharps all scored while Steve Wiener bagged a brace in vain for Grove.
