An exhibition marking Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender History Month has been on display at County Hall in Trowbridge this week.

During the week members of the GoG’s (Group of Gays) youth group were in the atrium promoting the ZeeTee Campaign for zero tolerance of homophobic language.

Members of the public were invited to sign a pledge board to agree to stop using phrases and words which are classed as homophobic, and offered a free wristband to show their support.

Youth involvement officer Nicola Sage, who is behind the campaign, said: “We are in an enlightened time compared to years ago but we still have a long way to go.

“This has been an opportunity to reach out to everyone and so far we have had a positive response.”

The campaign, run by Wiltshire Council, is currently being rolled out in Wiltshire secondary schools with plans to take it to primary schools in the future.
