Former Sheriff is to become a deputy

Robert Hiscox has been appointed deputy lieutenant of Wiltshire.

In his new role Mr Hiscox, 70, of Rainscombe Park in Oare, will support and promote the Lieutenancy and represent the Lord-Lieutenant in a range of public duties when required.

Mr Hiscox, who was previously High Sheriff of Wiltshire, is married to his second wife Lady Julia and has five sons.

Alan Fletcher of Stanton Fitzwarren in Swindon was also appointed deputy dieutenant.
