Curves fitness centre in Marlborough is waiving its joining fee for new members in exchange for a donation of food.
Throughout March new members can donate a bag of non-perishable groceries to be given to Devizes Food Bank for people in need.
This will be the third year that the centre has run the scheme and manager Faye Ireland is hoping gym goers will be as generous as they have been in previous years.
She said: “The Devizes Food Bank which covers Marlborough divided the donations into food packs that contain enough for an individual or a family for three days.
“All it takes is for a purse to be stolen, a breadwinner to walk out, or fire or flood damage to empty a larder and a disadvantaged family can find themselves in a very difficult situation.”
