Thousands of runners will be pushing themselves to the max as they pound the streets of Bath on Sunday during the half marathon.
Andy Clark, 31, of Wood Lane, will be running in memory of his mum Mary Clark, who died last October from a brain tumour.
He and sisters Philippa and Vicky will run dressed as nurses to pay tribute to Mrs Clark’s career at the Royal United Hospital, Bath, and will raise money for Dorothy House Hospice Care.
Mr Clark said: “She would have loved the fact that we are doing the half marathon in nurse uniforms as she made us do the Teignmouth Boxing Day dip in similar outfits in 2003.”

Dean Lucas, 44, of Wells Close, is running for the Royal British Legion after serving in the army for 23 years, mostly based at Hullavington. He left in 2008 as a sergeant major.
He said: “In the army I was used to doing some physical work every day. Now that I don’t have to do it it’s harder, but the charity work is my motivation.”

Lesley Taylor, 40, of Parliament Street, ran her first half marathon in 2008 after being diagnosed with type-I diabetes. She said she had not done as much training as she would have liked, because of the snow and rain, but is quite hopeful of getting to the finish line.
Richard Warren, 67, of Hullavington, ran with the Olympic torch last year, and is running for wife Lynette.
He said: “My wife has lived with MS for over 30 years, but last year on holiday they said she possibly had bowel cancer, which has been removed and she’s doing well.
“I am running for Cancer Research and the MS Society in order to give something back for the great treatment she has received.”
