Members of the Corsham windband were out in force on Saturday at an open day to recruit new members.

Players from each of the group’s three bands were at Corsham’s Pound Arts Centre for the open session.

Martin Edmunson, chairman of the Corsham Windband Association, said: “It went very well, we were very busy. We have got around eight new definite recruits and there were quite a few people who had a look and went away to think about it.”

The band has its own collection of brass instruments, which it rents out to members, and these were on display for volunteers to try out.

The group has more than 100 members from across the county spread across the three bands, which meet every Saturday morning at the Pound. Visit www. corshamwindband.org/bands
