Salvation Army band master Stephen Smith and Heather Skull launch the Big Sing
A Trowbridge church is holding an Easter Big Sing as part of its 200th anniversary celebrations.
The event will take place at 7.30pm on Saturday, March 23 at the Zion Baptist Church, in Union Street.
The festivities will be a collaboration between the church, St James Parish Church and Trowbridge Salvation Army.
Heather Skull, the church’s communications manager, said: “I’m really getting quite excited about this event as it will have a real feeling of celebration about it.”
Readers at the event will include Wiltshire Council leader Jane Scott, and there will also be a collection in aid of the Salvation Army.
The Zion Baptist Church was formed in the town on January 6, 1813, but did not have its own building until 1816.
To mark its bicentenary milestone, the church has held a special service, launched a book and it has more events planned for later in the year, including a summer flower festival.
