Elvis was in the building to play to a 100th birthday party at Ravenscroft Care Home in Trowbridge on Wednesday.
Nora Greenwood is a massive fan of the king of roll ‘n’ roll and her family and staff at the home treated her to a performance by impersonator Rob Dee, who played all the superstar’s hits. The birthday girl enjoyed the show with her children John Greenwood, 66, and Gillian Usher, 68, and family including many of her three grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
“She’s a massive Elvis fan, he was so good to his mother and she liked that, she’s really enjoying the day,” said Mrs Usher. “She’s the most wonderful mother anyone could have and she’s kept us on the straight and narrow all our lives.”
Mrs Greenwood lived in Trowbridge all her life, working in the town’s cloth mills during the Second World War. Her husband Robert died about 15 years ago.
