NORTH BERKS LEAGUE: Coleshill into Memorial Cup final

COLESHILL United left it late to book their place in the final of the War Memorial Cup.

The Division Two side overcame Division Three Stanford-in-the-Vale 5-3 after two goals in the last five minutes.

A Shane Blake double and efforts from Dan Martin, Mark Simpkins and Richard Evans won the tie for Coleshill. Stanford’s goals came from Tyrone Mayall (2) and Jamie Gregory.

Faringdon Town reserves were dumped out of the AG Kingham Cup quarter-finals 7-0 by higher-league Abingdon United Reserves.

Adam Oram hit a hat-trick, Dan Otway bagged a brace and Chris Hooper and Dan Cox also scored.

Mark Mooney scored the only goal of the game as Second Division Lambourn Sports Reserves progressed at the expense of Harwell International Reserves.

Fourth Division Coleshill United Reserves won 6-2 at home to Hagbourne United Reserves from Division Five.

James Bye and Mark Loveridge both claimed doubles and James Head and James Wood notched one each. Alex Redman scored twice for Hagbourne.

The only league game involving one of our local sides saw Faringdon Town beat Berinsfield 2-0, allowing them to move up to third in Division One Robbie Harrington netted and a Liam Humphries sent home a screaming free kick.
