Greg Connor presents St Mary’s Infants School with high-visibility vests to improve children’s safety
School trips into town have been made safer for pupils at St Mary’s Infants School thanks to a donation of high-visibility vests from the Finlay Foundation.
Greg Connor, co-founder of the foundation, presented the school with 70 high- visibility vests after a request from close family friends Carrie and Neil Watson, whose son Kai is a pupil at the school.
The foundation, which promotes children’s safety, was set up by Mr Connor and his ex-wife Niki in memory of their son Finlay.
He lost his life after he and his mother were run over by the school bus outside Woodborough Primary School in May 2011.
Mr Connor said: “It isn’t often I am able to get involved on a day-to-day basis with foundation issues due to work commitments, but to see the children and the reaction from the school reminds me of why Niki and I started the foundation after Finlay’s tragic death.
“It is a privilege to be able to do little things like this in Finlay’s memory in my local town.”
