Young people can try their hand at a range of activities during a Have a Go Skills event being held at Trowbridge Civic Centre next Thursday (March 14).
The event, running between 10am and 6pm, offers school children, in Year 10 and above as well as young people under 24 a chance to learn about being a radio station producer, making jewellery, designing t-shirts and event planning for a skate park.
The aim of the event is to get attendees developing new skills and considering careers in areas they might not have thought about previously.
On the day, there will also be CV writing workshops and an interview skills seminars.
Wiltshire Councillor Fleur de Rhe-Philipe, cabinet member for economy, said: “It’s a chance for employers and training providers to give their expert information, advice and support to these young people. This is the age they will start thinking about their school options and future careers, so coming here and learning what skills and qualifications they will need is a good start.”
