Forever Friends Appeal have set up a new fundraising group for cancer care in Warminster, with the first meeting taking place on March 28 from 7pm to 8pm at Ruby’s Bistro.
The group will be organising fun activities in the Warminster and Westbury areas to help raise funds for Forever Friends Appeal’s Cancer Care Campaign, with the aim of raising £5million towards a pioneering new cancer centre at the RUH.
Vice-president of the appeal and Olympic Torch bearer Nicola Noble, of Swaledale Road, Warmin-ster, lost her sister Vanessa Kyte to cancer in 2007.
She is urging others to join the new group in a joint effort to fight the disease.
Mrs Noble, 51, who went to Kingdown School, said: “I feel really excited about having a fundraising group in the area where Ness and I were both brought up, it will be fantastic.
“It is our opportunity to help fundraise for an amazing new cancer centre which will benefit our community.
“Everyone knows someone affected by cancer and people understand the importance of this centre.
“It would be lovely to see old faces and new faces join us for a drink and natter – it will be a very worthwhile social get together.”
If anyone would like to join the new fundraising group on March 28, call Zoe Tainton on 01225 825825 or email her at zoe.tainton@nhs.net.
