TOOLSTATION LEAGUE FIRST DIVISION: Melksham Town 1 Longwell Green Sports 2
11:00am Monday 11th March 2013 in Latest News
MELKSHAM Town slipped to their third successive defeat despite facing a side with 10 men for 80 minutes.
Green were a man down after just 10 minutes when Mike Hardiman's high tackle on Dan Griffiths saw him shown a red card.
Griffiths limped off after another challenge from Alex Grimshaw which saw him show just a yellow card and both Tom Robinson and top scorer Gary Higdon had chances for the home side.
Higdon again went close in the second half, but Longwell grabbed the lead just after the hour as a long-range shot eluded Tom Drewitt in goal.
Fifteen minutes from time, Town levelled when Tom Robinson's pass found Dan Kovacs and his cross was diverted into his own net by Chris Dauncey.
Sam Thomas almost restored Longwell's lead which hit the underside of the crossbar, but Sports did grab all three points in injury time as substitute Ash Bowle's effort from 25 yards found the top corner.
