THE driver of a pink Corsa which crashed into an Aston Martin DBS at a petrol station is no stranger to the headlines – having hit them in 2010 when she dyed her cat pink.
Natasha Gregory, who was behind the wheel of the pink Vauxhall when she lost control and ploughed into the prestige car which was filling up at Esso in Kingshill, became the centre of a media storm when she used food colouring to dye the cat.
The then 22-year-old, who said her favourite colour is pink, and had dyed her own hair the same shade, said at the time she had been surprised by the media attention surrounding the story, which was covered by news outlets around the world.
And her fame has grown again over the last few days with the story of her accident being seen by thousands of people and making the national news.
Posting on the Adver’s Facebook page, Natasha said: “He drove out the petrol station, I was only going 25 if that #eyesrolling x”.
Friends were quick to defend her against a backlash of bad driver comments when the story appeared online stating that it was a mechanical fault with the car which had cause the crash.
Kylie Amanda posted: “The stearing bearin went she was goin over the round about at like 20 max shes massivley shaken and feels terrible i realy think ppl need to back off her.
“Shes a mother of 2 on her way to collect her daughter shes not an idiot driver. Shes sat opposite me right this second and shes so shaken about it!!! Maybe we all need to concentrate on the fact that no people were hurt!!”
Pinky Lee, who said she went to college with Natasha, wrote: “It’s not fair people saying nasty stuff about her she clipped a curb (sic) and the wheel bearings went.
“My ex clipped a curb before and the wheel Ended up flat under the car. Accidents happen luckily no one was hurt yes insurance will go up whatever but that's not what matters she's held her hands up said it was her give her some respect for it!”
The story proved a social media hit with hundreds of retweets as well as thousands of people looking at it on the Adver’s Facebook page and dozens sharing the link with their friends.
And people had plenty to say about the incident too.
Nigel Lewis said: “If your going to hit a car you might as well hit a car that’s worth a few bob lol.”
Laura Arnold posted: “I saw this scene shortly after it happened how on earth did the car end up at that angle...thought at the time the car looked like it was worth few bob ooops.”
And Bradley Gray said: “Haha she clipped a curb went between two poles exactly the same width of the car... It's literally impossible to do yet ... She does it , not only does she do it she hits a 100,000 pound car ... Wow oh wow .. Oh and she came out of the station and did this... Haha wow.”
