Complaints over parking in Broadgreen
POLICE officers have seen a recent escalation in complaints about parking obstructions around the Broadgreen area.
Officers, along with PCSOs and Swindon Council traffic wardens, have been carrying out an operation to address the concerns.
Despite a number of warning letters sent to the registered keepers of vehicles identified as causing obstructions, complaints have continued about the problem. Issues are mainly based around the obstruction of alleyways, parking within 10 metres of a junction, driving on footpaths and parking on double yellow lines.
Yesterday, patrols resulted in the issuing of 10 tickets for a combination of offences.

Fine then, pick up their cars and crush them if they don't want to observe the law.

As with many criminal offenses and many of the parking issues are due to criminal offenses there is no longer a deterrent to make people think twice.
Couple that with the inadequate parking that blights most new developments where planners and developers should have known better and you end up with the mess that we have.

The old housing stock was not designed to support cars....
The RPZ scheme is now to showing its limits, and displacing problems to nearby streets with no restrictions
Inconsistent road markings, some streets have double yellows whilst the next ones have not....and so on.
