A36 overnight closures put back a week

Overnight closures for essential maintenance work on the A36 between Monkton Combe and Brassknocker have been rescheduled.
The work, which will include surface repairs and white lining, had been planned to take place overnight this week but poor weather conditions meant that the work could not proceed.
The scheme has been rescheduled overnight from Monday, March 18 until Thursday March 21. The closures will be in place between 8pm and 6am.
Project sponsor Rachel Scott said, “We have carefully planned this work to take place when traffic flows are at their lowest to cause the least possible disruption but we would advise road users to allow more time for their journeys.”
Clearly signed diversion routes will be in place throughout the closures and local access will be maintained.
A signed diversion route from the M4 will be in place, with southbound traffic diverted from Bath taking the A4 to Chippenham, then the A350 south to Warminster and re-joining the A36. Traffic travelling northbound, towards Bath, will follow the same diversion route in reverse.
