Masterplan suggestions for Calne

A report based on two public workshops held in January to discuss ideas for a Calne town masterplan has been issued.

The workshops were led by Calne Town Council.

Attendees noted the town’s strengths and identified area for improvement, from traffic problems on Curzon Street, to the need to develop Phelps Parade.

Ideas for the town included a piazza for social meeting, a covered market place suitable for all weather and improved pedestrian routes to the town centre.

Participants also noted the need to regenerate housing in the centre of Calne.

More workshops are planned for early spring.
