Police seek witnesses after man robbed in Devizes

Wiltshire Police have appealed for witnesses after a man was robbed in Devizes.
The attack happened at about 7.30pm on Monday 5 March as the 33-year-old man was walking along Sheep Street opposite the library.
The victim has told officers that someone came up behind him and punched the back of his head. He fell to the ground and was kicked by a group of men.
During the attack his Blackberry mobile phone and cash was stolen.
Detective Constable Sam Hopkinson of the Priority Crime Team at Melksham said: “This was a vicious attack on a member of our community.
“The offence occurred during the early evening close to the town centre and I would like to hear from anyone who may have witnessed the incident, or who has any information about the men who took part.
“We would also like to hear from anyone who has any information about the location of the victim’s Blackberry phone.”
