Devizes songstress Sarah Carroll has won through to the regional finals of the TeenStar talent competition following a successful audition last week.
Sarah, 15, a former pupil of Bishops Cannings Primary School and now a Year 11 student at St Augustine’s College in Trowbridge, has been singing and dancing since she was three and has appeared in many shows.
She wowed the judges at the audition for TeenStar, a national talent competition to find the UK’s best teen and pre-teen singers, songwriters and rappers.
Sarah sang On My Own from Les Miserables and is currently deciding what to sing for the final.
She was selected from thousands of hopefuls to go to the regional final and then, if all goes well, to the national finals at the O2 Arena in London.
Her mother, Rosie, said: “We are all so excited for Sarah. If she makes it to the final it will be on her 16th birthday. What a present that would be.”
Sarah played the Narrator in Joseph and his Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat at the Wharf Theatre, Devizes, Bet in Devizes Musical Theatre’s production of Oliver! and is a member of the Bel Coro vocal group which won several cups at last year’s Devizes Junior Eisteddfod.
