For most people losing your hair once would be bad enough, but legal assistant Melanie Hunter is preparing to go bald for a second time for the Forever Friends Appeal.

Mrs Hunter, of Box, shaved her head in 2008 when she was diagnosed with Non-Hodgkins Lymphoma and her hair started to fall out.

Now, five years later, she’s doing it all again in aid of the new cancer centre at the Royal United Hospital, Bath.

She said: “The cancer unit looked after me so beautifully. The RUH was fantastic, from the person who made my tea, to the nurses who gave me chemotherapy and radiotherapy to the consultants who saw me before every treatment.

“I wanted to help the RUH buy some more clever machines so that that more people like me will be around in five years time.

“I’m doing it after five years which is a big event when you get signed off, and I’m turning 40, so it’s a double celebration.”

The shave takes place tomorrow. Sponsor her at www. justgiving.com/mogers24
