Trowbridge fund for pond and shorthand

Trowbridge Area Board has given out a total of £17,102 to seven groups.
Organisers of a Wiltshire Armed Forces Veterans event received £886, Trowbridge Chamber of Commerce got £3,500 towards running a service excellence event and Trowbridge Learning Centre got £3,500 to support a Saturday school, adult training and language clubs.
Trowbridge Civic Society was handed £3,703 towards celebrations of the 200th anniversary of Sir Isaac Pitman – creator of a shorthand system, Friends of Biss Meadows Country Park got £1,163 for a pond scheme, Sounding It Out community choir was given £4,000 and Preserve Our Past got £350.
