A martial arts instructor from Seend held a unique training session inside Stonehenge to celebrate the Vernal Equinox last month.

Matt Hill, 40, a senior instructor from Wiltshire Martial Arts, organised a group of 26 students to participate in an hour training session at the historic site, sharpening their sword and empty-handed techniques.

They met at 5.45am to watch the sunrise, and then ventured inside the stone circle for walking meditation, in and around the stones, before starting their training.

Mr Hill said: “Martial arts can be mystical and ancient, as can Stonehenge, so the two go very well.

“The students said they couldn’t believe the hour had gone so quickly. The intensity of the experience heightened their awareness and energy and the location made it more memorable.”
