THE FIRST week of midweek fixtures for the Trowbridge Windows & Conservatories-sponsored Trowbridge & District League saw just one fixture played in Division One, with a a 5-0 victory for leaders Boomsbury at Seend United has giveing Ben Howe’s side a commanding 12 point advantage over second placed Westbury United Reserves.
A brilliant effort from Steve Jackson gave Boomsbury the lead early on and another fantastic finish midway through the half from Carl Davies made it 2-0.
Scott Askew capped an excellent first half showing from the leaders when he bagged their third just before the break.
A second from Askew early in the second half killed off any hopes Seend may have had of getting back in the game and although they should have added to their tally, Boomsbury had to wait until the 88th minute to score their fifth which, came from Chase Johnson, who was playing in only his third game for the club.
