TODAY we launch a major new campaign, designed to help some of Swindon’s 4,000-plus unemployed find a job.
National statistics show that when looking for a job, 75 per cent of people turn to their local media first for help. Here at the Adver, we recognise that there are a lot of opportunities for employment in the town that people never get to hear about.
We want our readers to know about these vacancies so they have the best possible chance of finding employment. So today we launch our Get Swindon Working campaign. Over the next two weeks we’ll be painting a picture of the current job market in the town, revealing ways in which the unemployed can help themselves and speaking to people who have faced an uphill battle in the search for work.
Plus, from June 27, we will be offering some exciting opportunities for employers to place your recruitment needs with us, including advertising their vacancy for free. For details on this contact Louise Keenan on 01793 501773 or visit www.swindonadvertiser.co.uk, where you will find daily updates relating to the packages available.
Don't forget you can join in the conversation on Twitter - just use the hashtag #getswindonworking
