Primary school children learned about healthy food, developed their French skills and explored science in a food and drink event at Devizes School.

The day was part of a sequence of enrichment days for able, gifted and talented pupils and was attended by 30 pupils from All Cannings, Bishops Cannings, Nursteed, The Trinity and Wansdyke schools.

Devizes School pupils helped with lessons and the school’s deputy headteacher Julie Miriam said: “We were delighted to be able to demonstrate to the brightest and most motivated pupils from our feeder primary schools what fantastic learning opportunities and facilities exist for them at Devizes School.

“We were overwhelmed by the interest and support of local businesses and organisations such as Devizes Food and Drink Festival, Margaret Bryant from Vaughan’s Kitchen and development chef Sheelin Davies from Pabulum, who gave generously of their time and expertise before and on the day.”
