Lacock is well-known for its heritage, but a different aspect of its colourful history will be celebrated this weekend as the village goes to war.
Whitehall Garden Centre will host its annual Dig For Victory weekend, a celebration of 1940s fashion, music and entertainment, while the Lacock at War event will see classic and modern military vehicles on display at the village playing fields, with various re-enactment groups bringing the First and Second World Wars back to life.
The two-day event will also feature live music from 1940s-style singer Madeline Brown and a flypast by a Douglas C-47 Dakota. Entry is £3 for adults and £1.50 for senior citizens and children.
