BUILDING work begins today on a new children's accident and emergency department at the Great Western hospital.
The aim is to provide families with a more calm and child-friendly environment, away from the busy general waiting area.
The GWH is hoping to raise funds to help furnish the department with additional equipment and toys, which they cannot afford with their NHS budget alone.
That's why, from next week, the Adver will be launching a campaign to help raise £20,000 to ensure our children receive the best possible experience when visiting the GWH.
We want to hear from families in Swindon who have had first hand experience of the current A&E department. Email firstname.lastname@example.org or call reporter Matt Edwards on 01793 501794.
