POLICE have appealed for witnesses after a woman smashed a window at a hairdressing salon in The Little Brittox last Tuesday night.
The window at Guys and Dolls hairdressers was smashed some time overnight and, upon reviewing the CCTV images, officers saw that at 1.25am a woman wearing a long dark skirt and holding three carrier bags broke the window and walked off.
Inspector Matt Armstrong of Devizes police said: “If this person would like to make themselves known to us, we will discuss how she can sort out paying for the damage.
“Alternatively, if someone was around the area at that time and can help us identify the perpetrator, we would like to hear from them via the 101 number.”
Amanda Bound, who owns Guys and Dolls with Helen Hampton, said she feared the worst when police rang her last Wednesday morning to tell her of the damage.
She said: “I thought it was the big front window but when I got there I saw it was the top window on the front door, which still cost £178 to get fixed.
“It was an inconvenience but we don’t open on Wednesdays so we didn’t lose any business. We understand from the police it was a woman who did it but we haven’t heard any more than that.”
