A day of tea and cakes raised almost £800 for Breast Cancer Care.
The event in Brinkworth Village Hall on Saturday was part of the charity’s Strawberry Tea summer promotion.
Organiser Sophia Greenslade, 27, said: “We had a raffle with a top prize of a Dyson DC40 worth £360 and others worth over £100; there were 32 raffle prizes in total.
“We had a large tombola, vintage cards and shabby-chic stalls, and a lot of homemade cakes. The highlight was totalling the money at the end of the day.”
About 150 people attended what was the first fundraising event Miss Greenslade had organised and she would now like to stage another. Breast Cancer Care provides information and support for anyone affected by breast cancer, with £10 being used to teach someone how to be breast aware for life at a local workshop.
