A woman from Warminster received a 12 month community order with 100 hours unpaid work, after pleading guilty to benefit fraud totalling more than £12,000.
Jessica Scarr, 25, of Masefield Road, Warminster, pleaded guilty at Salisbury Magistrates Court on Friday to failing to notify both Wiltshire Council and the Department of Work and Pensions that she was ‘maintaining a common household’ with a man who was in receipt of an income.
She was claiming benefits with both authorities as a single person and as a result received income support, housing benefit and council tax benefit.
