DIABETES UK is looking for volunteers to help find some of the 6,800 people in Wiltshire whose health is threatened by undiagnosed Type 2 diabetes, and alert the one in seven adults who are at high risk of developing the condition.

The charity is recruiting volunteers to assess members of the public for their risk of developing Type 2 diabetes and raise awareness of the importance of a healthy lifestyle in reducing this risk.

Risk assessments are carried out at Healthy Lifestyle Roadshows across the country in towns and city centres and are supported by money raised from the Bupa Great Run Series, for which Diabetes UK is the nominated charity partner.

Volunteers will be given full training for the role once they have committed to attending at least one roadshow. These are taking place in Trowbridge on 15 October, Marlborough on 16 October, Salisbury on 17 October and Chippenham on 18 October.

If people are interested in volunteering for the roadshows email south.west@diabetes.org.uk or telephone 01823 448260.
