WESTLECOT are one match away from regaining the Wiltshire Four Rink League play-offs title they lost last season.
The Swindon club face holders Holt at Devizes, the side who beat them in the 2012 semis.
Westlecot cruised to an emphatic 100-51 semi-final victory over Area A runners-up Highworth at Box.
Highworth’s lone success came from the rink skipped by Rob Etherington, who led all the way to record a three-shot win.
Three of the four matches were close but the 40-5 loss suffered by Kevin Carter’s rink to Westlecot’s Mel Biggs was decisive in the final reckoning.
Across the board Highworth led 18-17 after five ends but with Carter’s foursome struggling, Westlecot moved 47-25 up at 10 ends and 65-42 at 15 before finally winning 100-51.
Etherington’s four were 7-1 up against Mike Jackson at five ends but were pegged back to 10-10 at 10. They went 15-12 up at 15 ends and eventually triumphed by three shots.
But that was Highworth’s only success as Richard Young’s rink blew a 13-11 lead at 15 ends over Ian Jefferies, the Westlecot quartet winning by six shots.
Back from injury, Graham Hatherall led his Westlecot rink to an 11-shot success after leading 13-5 at five ends and 16-10 at 15.
Biggs’ rink were 7-2 in front at five ends and leapt 17-2 clear at 10. They moved 26-4 clear at 15 and scored another 14 shots in the next six ends for a comprehensive 40-5 win.
