Bushton farmer appeals for return of missing Jack Russell
Farmer Steve Pinniger is appealing for news of his dog Peggy who has been missing for more than a week.
Mr Pinniger, who owns a farm between Hilmarton and Bushton, last saw Peggy, a 10-year-old Jack Russell bitch, on Sunday September 1 around midday.
He owns land at Bushton and had her in the tractor with him while he was working the field.
Around midday he put her out for a run and a comfort break and she was last seen a short distance away around 1pm.
Mr Pinniger said: “I have reliable reports that Peggy was seen being picked up by somebody with a silver 4x4 van in Bushton. The vehicle was travelling towards Royal Wootton Bassett.
“Peggy is a much loved family pet that has grown up with us on the farm. It’s like losing a family member. I don’t know what to do.
“She is on the DogLost website, Facebook, and other social media sites. I have contacted all the local vets and dog wardens, but no dog matching her description has been reported as found.
“I have also put up many posters in the surrounding villages to try and find her, all to no avail.”
Mr Pinniger has informed the police, who have registered her as being stolen. To get in touch call 07778955119.
