FROM restored windmills to a Victorian School, Wiltshire’s historic buildings will be on display as part of the Heritage Open Days 2013 this weekend.
Runnings from today until Sunday, it is the largest free heritage event in the country, offering guided tours and family-friendly events.
On Saturday between 10.30am - 5.30pm visitors can enjoy free admission to Lacock Abbey and the Fox Talbot Museum.
You can also visit the perfectly preserved schoolroom at Sevington Victorian School near Chippenham.
In Devizes the town’s oldest churches – St James’, St John’s and St Mary’s – are taking part, as are Wiltshire Museum in Long Street, the Town Lockup in St John’s Street and the Masonic Hall.
Over at Wilton Windmill in Marlborough they are celebrating with a picnic competition and the Merchant’s House in Marlborough is offering free tours on Sunday. For details of all events go to www.heritageopendays.org.uk
