Staff at Trowbridge’s ASDA store dug deep earlier this month to help raise almost £900 in memory of a former colleague.
The store organised a weekend of fundraising events and games for the It’s in the Bag testicular cancer appeal in honour of Chris Penelhum, who died of the disease in April.
Over £690 was raised over the two days, which was given to the charity along with £200 raised by customers over the last two months.
Nicky Phillips, community champion at the store, said: “The charity team are survivors or loved ones affected by cancer, so as far as they are concerned the money is secondary to the awareness raised.”
The cheque from the customers’ donations was presented to Mr Penelhum’s partner Tracey Tallentire who accepted it with his daughter and stepdaughter.
