Films and images in Warminster bring the past back to life

Archive films of Warminster dating back to 1909 will be shown as part of a show at Salisbury Arts Centre on September 20, which will explore decades of life in Salisbury and Wiltshire.
The show, called Those Were The Days My Friends, combines silent films with narration and folk songs.
Organised by Windrose Rural Media Trust, the event includes a film shot in 1909 in which crowds gather to witness the Prince of Wales, the future George V, pass through Warminster on his way to visit Longleat. Amanda Boyd, who organised the project with director Trevor Bailey, said: “The images and films we have put together are going to look fantastic.”
The show is from 8pm. See www.salisburyartscentre.co.uk
