TV vet Matt Brash took over Drove Veterinary Hospital last week to make a promotional video for a new website for pet owners.
In the midst of a busy day at the Croft Road surgery, a full camera crew arrived with the former ITV ‘Zoo Vet’ presenter for the shoot last Thursday, which was commissioned for a new website called My Pets Online. It aims to be a one-stop shop for pet owners’ needs and guides to illnesses and afflictions so people can know what treatment their beloved animals might need.
Lynne Gaskarth, a partner and vet at the hospital, said: “It was fine – they came in and did filming and were getting the team involved.
“It’s going to be shown in vets hospitals all over the country, so it will be great exposure. It will be an online information centre for owners to use and, for example, if a dog has thyroid disease they can look it up and see what treatment is needed.
“It’s fabulous to think we will be in waiting rooms across the country and it will be my voice on the video. It was a busy day here as usual and most of the staff were trying to dodge being on camera and do their jobs but I couldn’t get away with it.
“Matt’s great, I knew him before and he’s just like any other vet - there’s no celebrity-thing with him. He had a big entourage of about 10 people though. We were only expecting someone with a handheld camera.”
